Starting my journey at pvamu has been very bittersweet. On the one hand the university staff has been very helpful and punctual at their response times when students are in need of assistance. One thing I would say needs changing is the amount of available space provided for students is no where near enough housing to accommodate the amount of students they’re accepting. Many students are struggling with no housing Terri week before classes start and from personal experience it’s more than stressful. Other than that pv has been a positive experience for me.

Hi, I am an incoming sophom*ore at Prairie View A&M University and overall I can say that my experience here has been pretty good. The campus is very active and hosts fun events for the students to participate in. There are a lot of clubs and organizations on campus that help you to get out of your comfort zone and make new friends. PV also has different housing options for different classifications, some in new renovated student apartments. A pro about the education here at PV is that the teacher to student ratio is balanced, you definitely get that one-on-one help in class. A con is that although you get one-on-one help in class, the professor might again assign a lot of busy work which can get hectic during midterms and finals.

For my first year of college, I will say it was challenging being the one that had to keep up with all the work that I was assigned. Eventually, I got the hang of it. And now I love it. I love the campus life, the people I've met, and the memories I've made there.

Prairie View has given me the best experience I could ever ask for. Between the campus itself, the agriculture department, and the classes, I couldn't have asked for a better college to attend. For the most part, the professors are excellent and helpful when needed. The campus is well-kept and provides plenty of activities for students to stay involved. And lastly, the agriculture department offers many different opportunities like field trips to visit alums that are now successful business owners giving back to the community and internships that will lead to jobs once we graduate.

Prairie View is a great college for social events and having a good time don't get me wrong but the enrollment process is extremely tedious, the staff as a whole is short-tempered trying to hurry you off the phone, and not really helpful. Also admitting into classes is difficult its mid-July and class doesn't start for another 5 weeks and nothing is available it is so bad to the point that they are trying to hire more professors to accompany the number of students there.

The university has pretty good resources available for students. However, PVAMU does not provide a safe environment.

My experience with PVAMU has been a good experience so far. I look forward to furthering my education and getting to know more about my history in the process. While attending PVAMU I will be able to get a better understanding of my major and where my background and history come from.

One aspect that stands out about my overall experience at PVAMU is the strong sense of community on campus. The university fosters a close-knit environment where students, faculty, and staff support one another. This sense of community is evident through various student organizations, events, and activities that promote engagement and collaboration among students from diverse backgrounds. As a result, I was able to form lasting friendships and connections that have continued beyond my time at PVAMU.
Another notable aspect of my experience at PVAMU is the emphasis on academic excellence. The university offers a wide range of undergraduate and graduate programs across various disciplines, ensuring students have ample opportunities to pursue their academic interests. The faculty members at PVAMU are highly knowledgeable and dedicated to their fields of expertise. They provide guidance and mentorship to students, encouraging them to excel academically and reach their full potential.

I like how students that attend or previously attended my school have PV pride, but I would like to figure out a way to receive more funding.

Prairie View A&M is such a wholesome college. Everyone is one big family and there’s not shortage of support and help you can get from anyone especially the upperclassman. They’re always willing to help the underclass man thrive the best they can.

Pvamu is the best HBCU ever! I would definitely recommend to anyone. I spent all my college years here, and I felt like four years wasn’t enough, so I’m coming back for more while all getting my masters! Thank you, Prairie View A&M University.

I loved the culture and community of PV. Everyone was so welcoming and eager to help you in your time of need. The proud history of our illustrious institution alone sets us apart from other campuses. The staff goes above and beyond to help the students reach their goals. They give you the resources you need to grow into not only an academic success but an all around success in life! They create and mold leaders and prove that teaching doesn’t just start and stop in the classroom. They stretch their needs to accommodate you and always wish you the best in your endeavors. I loved my HBCU and I wouldn’t trade my experience for the world!! P-V… YOUUUUUU KNOWWW!!!

My experience with Prairie View A & M University has been great. I admire that the university offers many resources to aid both online and face to face students. As well as advisors and administration that are always guiding me in the direction of new opportunities I can use excel in my education. One thing I would like to change or see more of is better funding towards the university.

The College of Engineering at Prairie View A&M University will provide students with a high-quality education that will prepare them for engineering careers. The only complaint that I had was dealing with financial aid and registration offices. This is common for most colleges and universities anyway, so it should not be a dealbreaker. Overall, I am highly satisfied with the education and experience that PVAMU provided me and would do it all again if I could!

I love the experience of being at an HBCU and being surrounded by black excellence. Being able to get an education in that type of environment is something I'll forever be grateful for. Overall it feels like a family away from home. Being tapped in with your culture and all the fun events is a unique experience. Regarding the communication and help from the staff, some improvement is needed in that area. More assistance and guidance need to be put in place to prevent students from being in challenging situations that the school could handle better.

Prairie View A&M University is a great school of choice. I've had a great experience since I applied. I'm now heading to nursing school downtown Houston. I'm looking from to relocating and further my degree in TX. I've had a great support system with the instructors and classmates. If found out that online courses isn't that bad after all. I was also working on campus to make so I purchased my items that was needed time to time. I also involved myself in step/dance shows. I really made some great friends on campus. My mom called daily to check upon me lol. But when holidays come around I somewhat misses my family back at home which is 12 hours away. I love my mother dearly for allowing me to be apart of this campus. She made sure I got everything I need for as bedding, food, money, college send off party etc. I love and appreciate her. So in return once I'm off to nursing I'm going to make sure I care for her in return. The two years went by so fast I didn't even realize it. Prairie.

Prairie View have gave me a home away from home, the people are very welcoming and love being around them. The teachers i’ve had are all wonderful and care more than others and I really appreciate the time and effort each one have put into us students . The best part about my school is the environment, it’s closed off which makes you wanna go outside and meet people and do things to make your experience 10 times better .
